It’s finally happening. Tesla’s much-talked-about diner, drive-in theater, and Supercharger hub in Southern California is just about finished — and judging by the latest photos, the grand opening might be right around the corner.
Over the weekend, X user @BLKMDL3 stopped by the Hollywood location at 7001 West Santa Monica Boulevard, and let’s just say — things look ready to roll. Superchargers are now lit up, the parking lot is paved, and the entire space looks nearly complete after a year and a half of slow but steady progress.
A Tesla Supercharger, With a 1950s Twist
If you’ve been following this project since Elon Musk first teased it in 2018, you know it’s more than just another charging station. Musk promised a full-on 1950s-style diner — complete with roller-skating waiters, rock-and-roll vibes, and classic movie clips playing on giant outdoor screens while you charge.
And from the looks of things, Tesla is sticking to that vision.
@BLKMDL3 snapped new photos showing the glow of operational Superchargers, with roughly 28 to 32 stalls already installed in the main lot. The diner itself appears to be nearing the finishing touches. Next door, crews are building an additional 50+ charging stalls, although these may not be open on day one.
“Looks like the Tesla diner is about to open. This thing took forever to build, but it seems like it’s finally happening!”

Tesla Hints and Job Postings Confirm Progress
Earlier this year, Tesla quietly added code related to the diner into its mobile app — and even posted the first job listings for the location back in August 2024. So, while the company hasn’t shared an official opening date yet, all signs point to a launch happening soon.
If it does open within the next few weeks, this will mark the end of an 18-month build — a surprisingly long timeline considering some of Tesla’s car factories were built even faster. But hey, a diner with personality takes time.
Let’s Talk Style
The entire concept feels like a blast from the past meets the future. You’ll be able to:
- Plug in your Tesla for a fast charge
- Grab a burger and shake from a retro-themed diner
- Watch iconic movie clips from your car
- Soak in the California sunshine or neon glow at night
This will no doubt become a must-visit destination for Tesla owners, tourists, and EV fans alike.
